Will You Volunteer?

As you can see I'm getting nowhere in fixing up the mess I've made of my blog.

So I need someone to help me. Someone who's experienced in using Blogger and HTML and who might be able to help me bring my profile back up to where it should be and basically make my blog look as it did before. I'm just getting way too angry and frustrated.

If you'd like to help, then I please email me at seddyed at hotmail dot com. I'd be very grateful if you could and can even offer a reward. It's save me the frustration and disappointment of losing over a year's worth of posts and comments.

If you email me, I will email you my login details. Once you've finished, let me know and then I'll change my password.

Please help....please

I have emailed you but if you dont get that then email me, james at subiacochurch dot com. I can give it a shot, its the same template that i learnt how to change things on!

you can always just choose another pre-set template.

it will keep all your posts... but just reset all the html to the default for the new template.

you can then start your modifications all over again.

Yeah I tried that but unfortunately it didn't work. The whole sidebar was still stuck down the bottom and even disappeared for a while. It must really be stuffed up.
Thanks anyway :)

Too funny. I'd offer to help, but I've done exactly the same thing before and I have no idea how I fixed it. I fancy myself a do-it-yourselfer, but I don't know a lick of HTML. Next time I go to Barnes & Noble, I'm buying an HTML for Dummies.

Your problem is in the post "Thumbs up!"

Somewhere in there you have mucked up the code, I don't have time to look at it now tho.

To verify that's the problem, goto edit that post, then save it as a draft. That will still save it, but 'unpublish' it from your blog. Come back and refresh the main page and if the problem is there then it should display ok then. Since the problem is caused by a post, that's why changing templates didn't help.

It looks fine in my IE6. Sidebar is in correct position.

Good to see everything's back in order.

Glad it is fixed Sarah! PHEW! Now I feel better that nothing I did with the template helped! I figured it was in a post somewhere too, but didn't have time to dig in there. Several people get a "THUMBS UP!" from this, but I doubt they will see the "THUMBS UP!" logo on one of your posts.

I followed Dave's advice and saved the Thumbs Up post as a draft. It didn't seem to work at first but now everything seems to be fixed. Yaaaaayyy!

I'm going to repost the Thumbs Up post but perhaps without the logo this time. I see you all nodding your heads in agreement. Sarah trying to do technical things is NOT good ;)

So it that what fixed it or did someone edit the HTML. I gave my login details to two people so was it one of you guys?

wasn't me!

Still looks ok to me. Hope it stays that way. But glitches do happen in Blogger, sometimes changing the template, sometimes changing a Setting!

Oh well, if no-one claims to have fixed it I guess I can't offer a reward. I have now changed my password anyway. I was going to give the technical guru who saved this blog a free autographed copy of my debut novel. You all will just have to settle with a discount since you can claim to have read my blog before I was famous ;)

I have a wordpress account on standby. This is Blogger's last chance.....
