Remembrance and Resemblance

Six months ago today I said goodbye to my dear Nan.

I'm aware that as time goes by memories may fade.  I still want to remember the touch of her hand, what it felt like to give her a hug, her voice....I don't ever want to forget.

I felt her absence most on my birthday.  I kept thinking there would be a card from her when I checked the mailbox.

Sometimes when Duncan and I are in Albany and my family sit down to dinner, it feels to me that we are like a pizza with a piece missing.

Life goes on, life is still good, but we still miss her and always will.

(I've been told I look a lot like her.  Here we both are at 17).

Holy crap you look like her!!! I thought it even before I saw your pic underneath!!

Im so sorry you lost her. I lost my pop last year (just over a year ago) and it really sucks. Grandparents hold such special places in our hearts than can never be filled. :( thinking of you

Thanks Bek. I remember you wrote on Facebook last year that you lost two pops in a week (or was one Russell's?). That's awful. I agree - grandparents are the best!

You sure look a lot alike! Amazing!

I got to know only my Mum´s Mother, no idea of what it´s like to have a Grandfather. As a young child I was even afraid of old men, LOL.

Sorry for your loss, but your Grandmother keeps being there in your heart, memory and your look...

Thanks Iris. Both of my grandfathers died before I was born so I didn't have the privilege of knowing them either.
