Hey! Check out my Blog - Part 2

Back in November, I talked about how easy it is for new bloggers to feel disillusioned at the lack of readers and comments their blog attracts. One way to introduce your blog to new readers is to comment on other people's blogs and they may just come and have a look at yours.

Another way is to make sure you blog regularly.

I know it's hard sometimes. Quite frankly, there are days when I just can't be bothered putting up a new post. I have plenty to say and I try to blog every few days but sometimes I just get lazy. But I know that I'm personally a lot more attracted to blogs that are updated regularly (ie. every few days) than blogs that are only updated once a month or every few months.

Of course, as bloggers, we all have lives in the 'real world' too and we shouldn't feel we need to be chained to our computers just so we can entertain randoms in cyberspace. If I spent more time blogging than with my friends and family then that would be pretty sad. My point is though, if you have a blog but never write on it, then why do you have one in the first place? There are many bloggers out there who are excellent writers but the frequency of their posts is so sporadic that soon my visits to their blog become more and more sporadic too. Then I forget to even check their blog at all.

So, if you want more readers, remember to keep posting regularly. And don't use the excuse that you have nothing interesting to say. Bollocks! People have a tendency to find other people's lives more intriguing than their own. Some lurker on your blog probably finds you the most interesting person on earth ;)

P.S. Another way to get more readers is to join the Community of Bloggers. Check it out! I might do that too.

More Failing Technology

Are you looking to buy a mobile phone?

Do not buy a Nokia 6233.

I repeat....

Do NOT buy a Nokia 6233.

I bought one in August last year cos I needed a new phone (my old one kept cutting off during calls). After a few months, strange things started happening. It kept saying the memory was full even though I had very few messages and photos stored in it. I deleted even more stuff and it STILL kept saying the memory was full. In fact, the memory capacity seemed to be shrinking and I had to delete messages as soon as I got them. Finally, text messages wouldn't send at all as the phone kept freezing.

Two weeks ago I took it back to the Telstra Shop, then two days ago, I got a call saying it was ready so I picked it up (after waiting in a queue for AGES) then found they had done weird things to it. One of my smileys was gone, some of the menus had been re-arranged and I still couldn't send text messages.

So yesterday, I went back to the Telstra Shop AGAIN and waited AGAIN (yes I struggle with impatience, especially where queues are concerned). They sent my phone away AGAIN and if it doesn't work this time, I get a new phone for free, any brand I like that's of similar value.

I will NOT be getting another Nokia 6233.

Thank goodness I kept my old phone.

And I've come to the conclusion that technology doesn't like me :/

My Man!!!

Here it is! The post and photo you've all been waiting for. This is my boyfriend, Duncan and we've been together since the 5th January, so just over two weeks now.

I go to the same church as his brother, Clayton, so that's how we first met. Dunc moved to Perth from Busselton at the end of 2005 and started attending my church, but it wasn't until late last year I started to have feelings for him. He moved to Buntine (in the Wheatbelt, three hours from Perth) to work on a farm at the end of September so I kissed my chance goodbye and God had a LOT of work to do on me in lots of areas. Little did I know, Dunc had feelings for me too and we started to get to know each other better, despite the long distance.

The announcement of our relationship has surprised a few people and thrilled others, including my friend Sarah who got married yesterday. Apparently she has wanted to set us up for a while ;)

By no means do I think I've 'arrived' - God will still be working in me for the rest of my life. I'm just awed and grateful at his kindness and we both want to submit our relationship to him.

And now here's the pic ;) I reckon he's hot.

I've Been Tagged

Read to the bottom of this post to see if I've tagged you......

1) What’s the most fun work you’ve ever done, and why? (Two sentences max)

I spend all day Wednesday working at home writing my first novel so I get to think about my characters' dramas and forget about my own for a day. The downside is I don't get paid but hopefully I'll get published one day.

2) Name one thing you did in the past that you no longer do but wish you did? (One sentence max)

I used to see my closest friends at high school every day but now we appreciate each time we get to catch up.

3A) What two things would you most like to learn or be better at, and why? (Two sentences max)

Learn another language - preferably German because I'd like to visit Austria.

Relearn how to play the guitar since I haven't played for about 10 years.

3B) If you could take a class/workshop/apprenticeship from anyone in the world, living or dead, who would it be and what would you hope to learn? (Two sentences max)

Singing lessons from Julie Andrews.

4A) What three words might your best friends or family use to describe you?

Honest. Fun-loving. Eccentric

4B) Now list two more words you wish described you.

Bold. Organised.

5) What are your top three passions? (Can be current or past, work, hobbies, or causes– three sentences max)

Jesus. Friends. Family.

6) Write–and answer–one more question that YOU would ask someone. (Answer in three sentences max)

What do you really get fired up/passionate about? I get fired up/passionate about lots of things and these include attempting to love others, trust and walk with God, charity, writing good Christian fiction and seeing the Eagles kick other teams' butts (especially the Dockers).

Now I tag Bek from L.A.M.B. and Middo from Middo's World. If you read this blog but don't have your own blog, you're welcome to leave a comment with your answers. Anyone else reading this can tag themselves :D

News Flash!!!!!!

I have MASSIVE news!!! It's so exciting - well I think so anyway. I will reveal all in good time but in the meantime, can any of you guess what it is? I rang a good friend yesterday and asked her to guess and she went "um....you can fly?"

Hmmm....no. Go on, have a guess.
